This blog contains updates and information that would be mainly of interest to those who are either in my classes and/or in the UHS chapter of the NY State Math Honor Society. I also maintain a constantly updated "Math Resources" page on this blog. That page contains links to a variety of websites that could be used to gain a better understanding of specific topics covered in math classes. While the majority of websites I find are for the secondary level, several of them cover topics on the elementary and the collegiate levels. If you find or know of a website that you think should be added to my list, please leave a comment under this post.

My Current Classes
Algebra Extended (Period 3)
Algebra Extended (Period 7)
Geometry Explorations (Period 1)
Geometry Explorations (Period 9)

Note: The date of this post will change to always be in the future to remain the first post that is seen.

4th Quarter, Regents, and Final Course grades will be emailed to everyone individually on Thursday, June 24, 2010. If you do not want to keep checking your email all day, I suggest you wait until after 2:30pm. It will take me about 2 hours to go through all four classes and I will be going in the order of Geometry (1st period then 3rd period) followed by Integrated Algebra (7th period then 8th period) and alphabetical order by last name.

Due to training that has been added to my schedule, I will only be available for missing item (books, CDs, and calculators) returns on Thursday, June 24 between the hours of 12:30pm and 2:30pm. There is no change for Friday, June 25.

The exam is still scheduled to begin around 12pm tomorrow, Thursday, June 17, 2010. However, there will be two main locations: the Boys Gym and the Girls Gym. When you enter the building tomorrow, please check the signs on the wall to determine in which gym you will take the exam. You will be separated based on last name in alphabetical order.

Make sure you get some rest and good luck tomorrow. :)

If you have not returned your book, cd, or calculator, you may give it to me in room 232 on Thursday, June 24, 2010 or Friday, June 25, 2010 during the regular school hours of 7:25am to 2:30pm. The worst time to return any item is between the hours of 11am and 12:30pm (as I will be on lunch break at some point during that time) on those two days (and my lunch will be taken off school grounds).

If you attempt to return any item on the day of your Regents exam, you will have to wait for the exam to be completed as I am proctoring during the exam and will not be able to leave until all exams have been collected and checked into the testing center. That would require you to wait until approximately 15-30 minutes after the exam has ended. If you are willing to do that, I will gladly take your book, cd, or calculator.

Geometry: Thursday, June 17, in the Boys Gym, at 12:00pm

Integrated Algebra: Friday, June 18, in the Boys and Girls Gyms (separation is based on last name), at 12:00pm

Please bring at least one pencil and one pen. For Geometry, bring your own compass if you do not like the ones you used in class (you will not have the option to be selective--you will have to use whatever ends up on the desk). You will be provided with a graphing calculator for the exam if you do not bring your own. You may bring your own scientific and/or graphing calculator. If you bring a graphing calculator to the exam, be aware that we will have to clear its memory and reset it prior to the exam. Rulers (and compasses for geometry) will also be provided during the exam, but you may bring your own as well.

If you are not taking the exam in the main location, I have emailed you via your uniondaleschools.org email address. Please make sure to check it. If you report to the gym and you do not belong, eventually you will be pulled out of the gym during the attendance check.

Good luck to everyone :)

All materials (textbooks, cds, and/or calculators) must be returned by Monday, June 14, 2010. During 9th period on Monday, June 14, 2010, I will be finalizing the list of unreturned items and submitting the list to all required administrators. As Regents exams begin on June 15, 2010, there is no guarantee of finding me to return items. Do not assume you will be able to return items on the day of your mathematics Regents (June 17th for Geometry; June 18th for Integrated Algebra), unless you can wait until all 3 hours of the exam is over. I will not be able to collect any items prior to the end of the exams as I will be proctoring during both of them.

Any items not returned by June 14, 2010 will require you to make sure your name is crossed of the owned items list when you attempt to return your textbook/cd/calculator. Unless you can make sure that is done, it might be best to wait until Friday, June 25, 2010, to return your textbook/cd/calculator as I will definitely be around on the last day of school and accessible. The exact place I can be found will be posted here as well as on the class websites around that date.

Unless he or she was absent from class, all students received their most relatively up-to-date progress report for the fourth quarter on Friday, June 4, 2010. Any make-up work must be received by June 14, 2010, or else it will not count for the fourth quarter.
