As this year’s seniors start to receive their college acceptance letters, many will need a crash course in financial aid.

You’ll likely be the first person they go to with their questions, and College Money Matters has two fun and colorful guides that can help:

  1. A quick video that clearly and conversationally explains how student loans work
  2. A free, downloadable calendar that colorfully shows what to expect – and what to do – regarding Federal financial aid.

Just check out the links below to experience these tools for yourself.

Visit collegemoneymatters.org, and you’ll see many more examples of how seemingly complicated college-related issues can be transformed into articles, videos and games that are simple, clear and even fun. Your visit will also show you that the site is available in Spanish and features accessibility software to reach as many students as possible.

St. Joseph's College: Office of Admissions

We truly want to help you, even in some small way.

Recently, we hosted and recorded a very generic Financial Aid workshop designed to assist
all high school seniors and their parents. We were thinking that this could be a way for us to lend you a helping hand. This workshop may be especially useful to those parents who are just now getting ready to file their FAFSA, or have recently received notice that they have been selected for verification.

We would be delighted if sharing this video saves you some of your valuable time while also providing your student’s parents with:

  • A preliminary foundation and understanding of the basics of the Financial Aid process
  • A glossary of terms used
  • A familiarity with the different types of aid available
  • A list of items required when filing their FAFSA

We wish you and your students a wonderful spring semester and healthy emergence from the pandemic.

Sincerely,

Amy Thompson
Director of Financial Aid
St. Joseph’s College
