Mr. McCaw, Principal of the Mighty Uniondale High School

Once a Knight, Always a KnightPrincipal McCaw

Mr. McCaw has deep roots in Uniondale.  After graduating from UHS, he attended Hofstra University.  Mr. McCaw returned to Uniondale in 2009, and joined the UHS family as a social studies teacher.   He was appointed assistant principal in 2015 and is now principal of the Mighty Uniondale High School.  Mr. McCaw's infectious energy empowers students and staff to overcome obstacles and to do their best every day.

Dr. Abramowitz Dr. A

Dr. Abramowitz began his journey with the Uniondale UFSD in 1996 as a Technology Teacher at Lawrence Road Middle School.  In 2000 he transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal at UHS.  Dr. Abramowitz completed his undergraduate and first Master's degree at City College.  He received his second Master's from Queens College and later his Doctoral degree from Dowling College.  As the administrator for the Business, Family and Consumer Sciences, Physical Education, Special Education, and Technology departments he spends countless hours ensuring the needs of students and staff are attended to!


Mrs. Bradley

Mrs. Bradley Ms. Bradley started her college career at CUNY York College as an Elementary Education Major, however realized that her connection and passion were geared more toward adolescents.

Ms. Brown AP Brown
Ms. Brown attended The City College of New York where she earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Spanish. After receiving her degrees, she worked as a Research Assistant, but always had a desire to be an educator in order to shape the minds of young people.

Mr. Ocampo AP Ocampo

Assistant Principal Pablo Ocampo is of Colombian heritage but was raised in Queens, NY. He is profoundly motivated by knowledge, education, music, and martial arts. He is also a graduate of Queens College and the College of Saint Rose where he studied to become an educator and a school administrator. 


Deans

Ms. Samantha Kantor

 

Dean Samantha Kantor has worked with children for over eighteen years. She has amassed ten years of experience in education. Her teaching journey began as a music teacher in the South Bronx at the Elementary level, specializing in piano, voice, and guitar. A few years later, she transitioned to secondary education, working at High School in Queens, NY, where she taught General Music, Concert Band, Symphonic Orchestra, and AP Music Theory.

She became one of the Deans at the high school, focused on building a strong and safe school culture and environment. As a Dean, her unique approach fostered collaboration and support of students and staff, strengthening a welcome and inclusive environment for all. She is extremely excited to bring that same approach to Uniondale High School!

We look forward to Dean Kantor rocking out in our hallways, and cooking up some incredible ideas to move us forward. 

Ms. Shulterbrondt

Ms. Shulterbrondt was appointedDean Shulterbrondt to join the Uniondale High School family in 2012. During the last decade, she has served in several capacities; Class Advisor, Mentor, Lead Teacher and Assistant Coordinator of the Summer School program, and Coordinator of the Alternative High School programs.


As a first-generation Dominican-American, she is relationship-driven, and compassionate and is focused on maximizing student learning by creating pathways for all students to reach the goal of earning a high school diploma. She is extremely excited to join the school administrative team, continue to build connections with the Uniondale community, and ensure all students reach college and career goals.  
She earned her B.A. degree in Hispanic Language and Literature with a concentration in secondary education from Stony Brook University. A Master’s degree from Touro College in T.E.S.O.L. and an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership from The College of Saint Rose.
