UHS Model United Nations Wins at Columbia U. Conference
Twenty of our scholars participated, faithfully representing their given nations/roles
in a myriad of committees, including the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, Disarmament and International Security (DISEC), the Historical Crisis recreation of the War of the Roses (the Houses of Lancaster and York), the Arab League, the Press Corp, and the Fantasy Crisis of the Infinite and the Divine (1st and 2nd legs). Scholars, through research, debate, and tactful compromise, sought to resolve issues ranging from the balance between freedom of speech and security in the age of the internet, the South American refugee crisis, addressing the effects of regime change on regional stability and diplomatic relations within the Arab League and the role of the League in issues relating to migration, among many others. Angelino H. earned the award of Honorable Mention for his outstanding work in the Press Corps on behalf of the publication, El País!
