Future barbers cut a career path at Uniondale High School
Taliyah Hobbs prepared to wash and set the hair of her first and only client of the day on a recent morning.
Hobbs rested the girl's neck on the edge of a sink designed for this very purpose and used an attached hose to bathe the customer's hair in soapy water. 
Afterward, she straightened and set the hair of her client, who still had enough time to leave the converted art room at Uniondale High School and attend her next class, as did Hobbs. Read More...

Uniondale Art Scholar Kimberly Argueta Rodriguez for her art work being accepted as one of Long Island's Best.  Her work was chosen among 79 out of 399 submissions from other artists on Long Island. It will be on exhibit at the Heckscher Museum beginning April 30th.

Grand Avenue Celebrates Earth Day with Spirit Week
Uniondale Union Free School District’s Grand Avenue School recently celebrated Earth Day with a week filled with fun themes and activities. Each day, a new Earth Day-related theme was followed, such as “Turn Out the Lights Tuesday,” where scholars and staff wore bright colors and shades to light up the building without electricity. Each morning would begin with instructing Grand Avenue scholars on habits to conserve, protect and care for the environment to preserve our planet.
