Nearly 75 rising seniors kicked off their college application journey during the College Application Boot Camp, an annual four-day series of workshops organized and hosted by the Uniondale High School College & Career Center and held at the Uniondale Public Library.
Students had the incredible opportunity to work one-on-one with 28 college admissions professionals representing 21 colleges and universities, receiving personalized guidance from the people who review applications every day.
Throughout the week, students:
✍️ Brainstormed, drafted, and revised their college essays
📋 Built their college résumé and Common App Activities section
🎓 Completed key sections of the Common Application
🏆 Learned how to showcase their accomplishments effectively
👀 Participated in a mock admissions committee case study, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how admissions counselors evaluate applications and make admissions decisions.
This unique experience gave students an early start on the college application process, built their confidence, and helped them submit stronger, more authentic applications.
