Dear Uniondale Community,
Today marks the ten-year anniversary of My Brother's Keeper, a movement that has transformed countless lives and communities across the nation. From its inception by President Obama in 2014 to its evolution into the My Brother's Keeper Alliance, a program of the Obama Foundation, we have been committed to creating pathways to opportunity and building brighter futures for boys and young men of color.
As we celebrate this milestone, we invite you to join us in reflecting on our achievements
https://www.uniondaleschools.org/page/uniondale-mbk and renewing our commitment to creating positive change in our community. Together, we can continue building safe and supportive communities where every young person feels valued and has clear pathways to success.
Thank you for being part of the journey that is My Brother's Keeper. Here's to the next ten years of impact!

Dear Uniondale Community,
I would like to update you on a facilities issue that took place at Uniondale High School today. This morning there was a report of the smell of gas on the third floor of the building. School administrators and the Director of Buildings and Grounds reported to the area immediately to ascertain the cause of the smell and began the process of relocating students and staff from the area. Out of an abundance of caution the decision was made to evacuate the building and contact the Uniondale Fire Department and National Grid to conduct a thorough and comprehensive assessment of the building. They found two HVAC systems that needed to be serviced and a small leak on two of the existing boilers that have since been turned off. It is important to note that the building was cleared for re-entry by both the Fire Department and National Grid. We have put together a plan to address the issues that were uncovered today. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. If you do have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my office or Uniondale High School Principal Mr. McCaw's office.
Sincerely,
Monique Darrisaw-Akil, Ed.D
