Dear Uniondale High School Parents,
I hope that everyone is enjoying Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. His influence throughout the world is unmistakable.
Desiring a future where people of all races live harmoniously, he dedicated his life to fighting for civil rights. What impressed me most about Dr. King was his ability to remain steadfast in his values despite facing persecution. This level of fortitude requires an uncanny focus found in few individuals who have ever walked this earth.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" As we celebrate his legacy, I encourage and challenge everyone to remember this question daily.
Our children look to us as a school community to understand how they should be in this world. Let's continue to model the behaviors we desire to see in our children.
Be well,
Dr. Brown

Dear Uniondale High School Parents and Students,
As we approach Regents Week (January 21st - 24th), it's crucial to remember that now is the time for unwavering focus and determination. Success on these exams will open doors to countless opportunities in your future.
One of my favorite verses states, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." (Ecclesiastes 3)
Our focus must be on academic excellence right now. To maximize your chances of success, I urge all students to minimize distractions. Parents, take away the electronics. This means limiting social media use, turning off video games, and dedicating ample time to reviewing your coursework. Parents, I request your support in creating a distraction-free environment at home.
Remember, every hour of focused study brings you closer to your goals. Believe in yourselves. You are intelligent and capable, and I do not doubt that you will rise to the challenge. Let's make this Regents Week a testament to your hard work and dedication.
With unwavering support and high expectations,
Shawn F. Brown, Ph.D.

Attendance in Regents Prep is mandatory.
Failure to attend Regents Prep may result in disqualification from senior activities. These include, but are not limited to, prom, extracurricular activities, prom, trips, and sports.
We understand the excitement of senior year activities, but academic success must remain our top priority.
