We are nearing the end of your time here in the Uniondale community as you prepare to transition into this exciting new stage of life.
As we begin celebrating your achievements, please remember to stay on top of your grades. Do not start celebrating before you cross the finish line. You have come so far, and you are just a few weeks away from the goal. Push through and finish strong.
When you get tired, think of your village—your parents, your siblings, and your culture. Keep them in your heart every step of the way.
— Dr. Shawn Federico Brown, Principal

Thank you for your continuous partnership. Let’s finish the year U Strong!
Kerwen and Dashawn were recently recognized by Nassau BOCES for passing their exams and officially receiving their New York State Barbering Licenses!
This incredible milestone is a perfect testament to the importance of providing diverse career and technical education (CTE) pathways. When we equip students with hands-on skills and real-world opportunities, there is no limit to what they can achieve straight out of high school.
Join us in celebrating Kerwen and Dashawn for their hard work, hustle, and sharp skills. We can’t wait to see where their talent takes them next!

Facility Maintenance and Health Standards Update
Dear Uniondale Community,
As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and optimal learning environment for our students, staff, and families, the District regularly reviews and enhances its facility maintenance protocols.
In alignment with our seasonal preventative care practices, our buildings and grounds team is currently increasing the frequency of routine maintenance and environmental health services across our facilities. These proactive measures ensure that our buildings continue to meet and exceed all state and local health and safety standards.
Our facility teams will continue to monitor all spaces daily to maintain the high standards our community expects and deserves.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting a healthy school environment. If you have any specific facility questions or localized concerns, please contact our administrative office directly.
Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Uniondale High School Community,
As we continue to enjoy the warmer weather, we have seen an increase in the number of students commuting to school using e-bikes and motorized scooters. While we encourage sustainable and efficient ways to get to school, the safety of our students, staff, and pedestrians on campus is our absolute priority.
Recently, we have observed these vehicles being operated at high speeds, which creates a significant danger to both the riders and those walking around them. To ensure a safe environment for everyone, we are implementing the following mandatory procedures effective immediately:
Speed Limits & Safe Operation
Reduced Speed: Once you enter school grounds, you must maintain a speed of no more than 5–10 mph.
Dismounting: Students are expected to ride safely to their designated entrance and then dismount and walk their bikes or scooters to the racks.
Parking and Securing Your Vehicles
To keep our walkways clear and secure your property, please use the designated areas based on your entry point:
Goodrich Entrance: If you enter via Goodrich, please use the provided racks to chain your e-bike or scooter immediately. You must then walk the remainder of the way to the building.
Walnut Entrance: If you enter via Walnut, please proceed to the bike racks located near the pool side to chain and secure your vehicle.
Commitment to Safety
Riding at high speeds in crowded areas can lead to serious injury. We ask for your full cooperation in following these rules so we can keep our campus a safe space for all members of the Uniondale community.
Failure to comply with these safety regulations may result in the loss of the privilege to bring your e-bike or scooter onto school property.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for doing your part to keep UHS safe.
Sincerely,
Dr. Shawn F. Brown Principal, Uniondale High School

This week Uniondale's AP Ambassadors traveled to our state's capital in Albany, NY, to participate in the College Board’s AP Lobby Day. These students met with state representatives to advocate for sustained and increased funding for Advanced Placement programs. The focus of the visit was clear: Closing the access gap. By securing proper funding, we ensure that rigorous, college-level curriculum is accessible to all students, regardless of their background or zip code. Seeing our students transition from the classroom to the halls of government to fight for their peers is a testament to the leadership being fostered in our district. @collegeboard #Advocacy #APLobbyDay #UniondaleSchools #EducationalLeadership #NewYorkEducation
